Join Nature Photographer Steve McGrath in a photography Workshop where you will learn how to use your digital camera like a pro and improve your photographic technique when shooting in nature. Understand the settings of your camera and what you need to compose a professional looking photograph. You’ll have the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned outside in the woods with Steve on hand to give you tips.  With so many great photographic opportunities and challenges outdoors, you’ll have plenty of pictures and new skills to take home.

In this First Class, there will be a short presentation were we will discuss tips and techniques for getting great photographs. Then off to the outdoors to photograph for the day, make sure you bring you tripod/monopod and the longest lens you have.

In the Second Class we will view our Images and critique them for a show and tell. With an opportunity to show your best work.

Steve McGrath is an award winning professional freelance photographer and photography teacher who has been creating images for 30 years. Steve first began by shooting sports photography for local high schools, then weddings, and stock agencies. Then his love of the outdoors led him to focusing more on his true passion Nature Photography and Teaching Photography.

Many of his images have been published in school text books. His favorite places to shoot are Acadia National Park in Maine, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Cape Cod National Seashore.

Education: New York Institute of Photography Graduated 1994.

Past and present teaching locations: The New England Aquarium, Franklin Park Zoo, Garden in the Woods, deCordova Museum, Uxbridge Public Schools, and The Natick Center for the Arts TCAN, also Private Photography Sessions for Individuals, Tower hill Botanical gardens, Southwick’s Zoo, Newton Community Education, Assabet After Dark Marlborough, Danforth Art Museum, MA Audubon Society, Keefe Tech.
